It's almost confirmed now! Shankar, one of the most celebrated directors in South India, will direct the much-discussed remakes of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously. According to sources, Gemini Film Circuit will be producing the flick in both languages.

Vijay will play the lead role (originally played by Aamir Khan) in the Tamil version while Mahesh Babu will replace Vijay in Telugu. Sathyaraj is expected to enact the role made memorable by Boman Irani (Virus) in both Tamil and Telugu.

The latest buzz is that the director has roped in Tollywood sensation Ileana to play Kareena Kapoor's role in both Tamil and Telugu. Harris Jayaraj will reportedly be the music director, while Manoj Paramahamsa of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa will handle the camera.
